Introduction
Project Overview
Gate Agents play a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient boarding and deplaning, all while providing customer service at the gate. Boarding Manager was a desktop and mobile portal designed to streamline their tasks by allowing agents to:
✈️  Select, add, and remove flights they were managing.

🧳  Reconcile passengers as they boarded the flight.

💺  Access detailed seat map information.

📊  Monitor passenger counts, carry-on capacity, and crew status – and more.
These designs were completed in 2019 during my time on the United Airlines Employee User Experience team. As a Visual/UI Designer, I was responsible for translating the UX Researcher's wireframes and documentation into clean, functional interfaces. My work involved:
👉🏼  Applying brand and design system standards to elevate visual clarity and consistency.
👉🏼  Improving layout hierarchy for better usability in fast-paced airport environments.
👉🏼  Collaborating closely with UX researcher to understand agent workflows and challenges.
This collaboration helped shape a tool that supported Gate Agents in making informed, real-time decisions during critical operational windows.
